On May 6, 2018 Constable Houston of San Jacinto County PCT 3 was notified that a wanted fugitive, Mr. Michael Lee Brantley was in Cleveland, Texas. At approximately 2310 hours, Captain Sparta of San Jacinto County PCT 3 Constables office observed a vehicle matching the description that a wanted fugitive could possibly be in. Captain Sparta pulled along the side of the vehicle at Jack in the Box drive through located in the city limits of Cleveland Texas.
Constable Houston arrived on scene and contacted the driver Mr. David Brantley and asked him if he may know the whereabouts of the fugitive Mr. Michael Lee Brantley. Mr. David Brantley stated he has not seen his brother. Constable Houston requested permission to search Mr. David Brantley’s vehicle for weapons and contraband. Mr. David Brantley give verbal consent.
Captain Sparta began searching the vehicle for weapons and contraband. During the course of the search, Captain Sparta found a bag of small baggies commonly used to sell narcotics. Officers with the Cleveland Police Department arrived on scene and assisted in the search.
During the subsequent search, several grams of Methamphetamine was found in the vehicle.
San Jacinto County Constable Pct 3 turned all evidence over to the Cleveland Police Department and Mr. David Brantley was arrested by Cleveland Police Department for Manufacture and delivery of a Controlled Substance.
Our office would like to thank the Cleveland Police Department for their professionalism and assistance in this investigation that lead to the arrest of a criminal drug dealer plaguing San Jacinto County. We will continue to work jointly with local and surrounding agencies to rid our community of this epidemic of drug use and sales and will work tirelessly against all obstacles to make San Jacinto County a safe place to live and raise your families
