Drunk driver killed motorcyclist near FTW

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash that occurred a little after 9 p.m. Friday night when police say a drunk driver rear-ended his bike, triggering a five-vehicle wreck on westbound SH 242 at Fellowship Drive.

Jorge Guarjardo, 53, of 142 Silver Penny Dr. in Conroe was charged with intoxicated manslaughter with a motor vehicle.

The motorcyclist, 48-year-old Christopher Youngblood, was pronounced dead at a Woodlands area hospital.

Trooper Ward with the Texas Department of Public Safety said Guarjardo’s 2009 Toyota Camry rear-ended Youngblood’s Suzuki motorcycle, causing it to strike the Dodge Caravan in front of it. The bike deflected off of the Dodge Caravan and struck a Dodge pickup truck in the left turn lane. The van continued forward and struck the Ford pickup truck it was traveling directly behind.

Ward said the initial investigation indicated intoxication was the main contributing factor along with failure to control speed.
