DRYING OUT IN TIME FOR MORE RAIN NEXT WEEK

Area of thunderstorms continues to expand from east-central TX back towards central TX early this afternoon, continuing rain over many areas hit hardest last night.  General .5-1″ storm totals are accompanying these storms as of 1230p.  Some increase in coverage/intensity can be expected with isolated, stronger storms also capable of damage winds and hail as they spread slowly southeast across our region.  As long as this band keeps moving, even slowly, rainfall impacts should be manageable.  However, some areas could see 2-3″ with this activity.  Concern would be if the line hangs up or stalls once again, however current expectations are that we should continue to see some movement to the line.

Once this band moves offshore this evening, we expect drier forecast through much of the weekend (20-30% rain chances each day) before another system approaches the area middle of next week.
