Just after 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning James Burk, 58, of Conroe was west bound on FM 3083 just west of FM 1484 on his way to work. At the same time, Jessie Arellarjo was eastbound on FM 3083. Arellarjo, 22, of Conroe crossed the center line in his Dodge pickup and struck Burk who was driving a Toyota pick-up head-on. Burk was killed instantly.
Conroe Fire Department and MCHD responded to the scene. Arellanjo was transported to Hermann Hospital in Houston in stable condition.
Conroe Police assisted by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Vehicular Crimes Unit in the investigation that closed FM 3083 until 11:30 a.m.
During the investigation, the vehicles were placed back in position representing where they were immediately prior to the crash. It is not known at this time if drugs. alcohol or texting were involved in the crash.
Judge Spikes ordered McNutt Funeral Directors to transport Mr. Burk to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
