Just after 6 am Porter firefighters were changing shift when a vehicle pulled up in the driveway reporting a house on fire on Summer Hills Drive at North Park almost 2-miles away. An engine crew started in that direction when they spotted the smoke column. As they pulled up in front of the two-story home fully involved someone else had called in the fire and the dispatcher was just toning it out. They were able to put a quick stop on it but not able to immediately search it due to multiple collapses. The owner of the home was able to get out uninjured. The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
