The Board of Directors of the East Montgomery County Improvement District spread a little Christmas cheer and dropped off 140 turkeys at the Mission Northeast Thursday, December 17 just in time for the non-profit organization’s annual Christmas store, where it provided toys, gifts and holiday food to needy families.
“Mission Northeast does great work for the people of East Montgomery County by providing services year round. EMCID and its Board of Directors feel it’s important to help support the Mission by providing turkeys for those who otherwise would not have one during this special time of year,” said Frank McCrady, President and CEO.
“Mission Northeast is thankful for the tremendous support from EMCID over the years, for providing toys, gifts and turkeys,” said Pamela Dickson, director of Mission Northeast.
The Mission Northeast provides food, clothing and household items to persons in need throughout 11 zip codes, covering an area of more than 800 square miles. This past Saturday, the Mission Northeast provided holiday food to more than 200 families and over 150 seniors.
Participating in this year’s turkey donation drop-off were McCrady, Brenda Webb, Chairman of the Board, and Directors Isidor Ybarra and Martin Zepeda.
