Firefighters and law enforcement rushed to Jefferson Chemical Road east of Loop 336 Tuesday morning after multiple area residents reported an explosion that rattled their windows.
The road was blocked off and a HazMat crew was called to the scene.
Montgomery County Fire Marshal Jimmy Williams said the incident incurred inside the Huntsman Petrochemical Corporation and their personnel handled it.
“We responded to assist if necessary,” Williams said.
The fire agencies staged outside the facility on stand-by and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office kept the street closed to through traffic, allowing only essential personnel inside.
There were no injuries, Williams said, and no damage or external release.
The cause is under internal investigation by Huntsman.
