Just after 930pm Montgomery County 911 operators took a call for a reported auto/pedestrian accident on Crockett Martin Road near Crockett Forest. Cut and Shoot Fire Department, North Montgomery County Fire Department and MCHD responded to the scene along with a sheriff’s deputy and several DPS units. When they arrived on the scene they found a woman in her 30’s in traumatic arrest. CPR was initiated and continued to Conroe Regional Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. According to DPS the female was either walking in the road or crossing the road when she was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Tahoe. The driver of the Tahoe was not injured. Crockett Martin is a heavily traveled, dark, narrow roadway which varies in speeds from 40mph to 50 mph. THe female driver was determined not to have been impaired. The road reopened at 2am. DPS continues to investigate. Troopers are attempting to identify the victim.
