On March 26th, 2016, a black colored Yamaha motorcycle driven by Adam Barnes was traveling westbound on FM 1942 approaching the intersection with Barbers Hill Rd. A black colored Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Michael Hanly was traveling eastbound on FM 1942 also nearing the intersection with Barbers Hill Rd. The Yamaha motorcycle entered the slight curve in the roadway as it crossed the intersection with Barbers Hill Rd. and failed to maintain a single lane of travel. The Yamaha motorcycle crossed over into the eastbound lane of FM 1942, skidded and slid on its side directly in the path of the Harley Davidson motorcycle. Hanly’s motorcycle then struck the Yamaha motorcycle while in the eastbound lane. As a result of the injuries sustained from the crash, Michael Hanly died at the scene. Adam Barnes was flown to the hospital with severe injuries. A witness traveling behind Hanly’s motorcycle advised he observed the Yamaha motorcycle falling down in the path of Hanly’s motorcycle and caused the collision. The crash is still under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Division.
