Conroe Police, Fire and MCHD responded to a crash Saturday morning in the 100 block of FM 3083 just west of the railroad tracks.

Wesley Paul Archer, 34, of Conroe was driving a 2005 Ford Freestar was traveling westbound on FM 3083 when he crossed the center line and struck a 2006 Ford Focus, driven by Jeanne Elaine Daggett, 66, of Conroe. Daggett attempted to swerve to the right to avoid the collision but the left corners of both vehicles struck one another, injuring her.

Medics transported Daggett to Conroe Regional Hospital in very critical condition, however doctors were unable to save her.

@337amys… The 1st death involved a pedestrian. A Blood test showed no impairment, just a medication in his system.
That is why he was allowed to drive again.

There’s a lot missing from the first story, but in light of the second death caused by Archer maybe the details will come out. What “medicine” showed up in his system in the first accident? Was it cold medicine, or insulin — something legal, in a dosage that was not considered an impairment? And what was the intoxicating substance in Saturday’s accident? In the interest of justice it matters very much. For those who loved Jeanne, no “facts” will ever fill the loss. And let it be noted she was on her way to an event that spoke to her all-encompassing dedication to make the world a better place for others.

Why was this man allowed to drive again? I believe if someone kills another while driving drunk, they should not be able to drive again .
