Approximately 10 p.m. Friday night Montgomery County dispatchers took several calls about a major accident at Dobbin Huffsmith at Oakwood. First units on the scene notified dispatchers of a head-on crash with multiple injuries. MCHD arrived on the scene and immediately called for two helicopters. CPR was being performed on one of the passengers of a Nissan Altima. That passenger was sent to Hermann Hospital in Houston by Life Flight where he died. The second helicopter transported the driver of a Youkon Denali SUV with severe leg injuries. The driver of the Nissan was transported by ground to Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands in stable condition.
A second passenger in the Nissan fled the scene on foot and appeared at a Decker Hills Subdivision resident covered in blood with visible injuries. By the time she contacted law enforcement he vanished. Deputies searched the area for him but was unable to locate him.
One witness stated she and her friend were in the Circle S Shell when three males came in and then left out of the parking lot at a high rate of speed. Moments later the crash was heard. It appeared the Nissan crossed the center line and struck the SUV almost head-on.
DPS remained on the scene several hours investigating the crash.
No names have been released as of yet and it is unknown if alcohol, drugs or texting were involved until Troopers are able to conduct further interviews.
In addition , anyone with information on the passenger that fled is asked to call DPS.
