FATAL CRASH IN SPRING

Just after 9 pm on Monday South Montgomery County Fire Department was dispatched to a reported rollover crash on Sawdust Road and Grogans Mill just outside The Woodlands. Units arrived to find a KIA SOL on Sawdust Court with extensive damage. A male was still in the vehicle. Crews removed the 40-year-old male and started CPR. Medics with MCHD worked on the male for a lengthy amount of time before declaring him deceased. According to DPS, the KIA was traveling east on Sawdust Road at a high rate of speed and entered the curve to Grogans Mill. The driver struck the curb, launched over the guardrail, and rolled at least five times before coming to rest on Rayford Court. As he was rolling the vehicle struck several signs in the parking lot of Cube-Smart Storage. The vehicle continued to roll at it struck an AT+T Communications box then brushed a tree as the vehicle was almost standing on end. It continued another 30-feet before coming to rest on the road. No other vehicles or persons were involved. Eickenhorst Funeral Directors transported the victim who was local to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
