Just after 2 pm during heavy rain, a silver Chevrolet pickup was eastbound on FM 1485 at Idle Wilde when it ran off the road. The vehicle destroyed a mailbox, fence before slamming into a utility pole. The impact knocked the pole down dropping live wires. East Montgomery County Fire Department arrived on the scene and discovered the driver, who was the lone occupant was deceased. DPS is working the investigation. At this time there was no identification on the victim which was a male. Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Jason Dunn performed the inquest and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for an autopsy. FM 1485 has reopened to traffic.

    That must have been 1 really loud BAMMM! To have flipped over so hard as to crush the roof of the truck in like that. Wow! Surely was not going 55 mph speed
    limit when vehicle left the road to do that kind of damage. People need to slow it down some around here! :-\
