Just after 11 am MCHD was dispatched to a report of a major accident with rollover on US 59 northbound just south of FM 1314. Units arrived on the scene and found by-standers performing CPR on a 58-year-old female. A male who had also been in the vehicle was uninjured. According to DPS Sgt. Buress, the Scion was northbound when it left the freeway for unknown reasons and slammed into the guardrail causing it to flip and eject the female. DPS spent most of the afternoon with the assistance of the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Crimes Unit investigating the crash. They have yet to determine who was the driver of the vehicle. Montgomery County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace James Mett’s responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. The male was arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana. DPS would like anyone who may have seen the crash or stopped and have not yet talked to DPS to contact the DPS New Caney Office at 281-577-8972.
