Fatality Accident at 321-Mini Storage Building

On Monday, August 23, 2021, around 11:00 p.m. a family was attempting to unload their property at the 321-Mini Storages located at 1407 East Houston St. here in Cleveland, Tx.;
when one of the family members accidentally backed a large U-Haul truck over the top of two family members who were standing at the rear of the truck. The aunt was originally driving the truck and was having a difficult time navigating the truck thru the narrow storage driveway. The nephew chose to help and decided to drive the truck. When the aunt exited the truck the nephew got behind the wheel and accelerated backward pinning his grandmother and his uncle against the adjacent storage buildings and another vehicle that was parked behind the truck. The grandmother and the uncle had severe injuries and were both down on the ground incapacitated. Upon the arrival of Cleveland Fire Dept. and E.M.S. CPR was immediately started on the Grandmother. She was transported to Texas Emergency Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The uncle was flown by PHI-Air Ambulance to Memorial Herman Hospital in the Woodlands listed as in serious condition. The case appears to be a tragic accident and is pending further investigation.
