The Houston FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who threatened to detonate an explosive device as he robbed the Wachovia Bank at 4510 Kingwood Drive yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., a lone white male entered the bank and approached a teller station. He pulled what was described by witnesses as a hand grenade or a smoke bomb from his pocket and demanded all of the teller’s large bills. The robber is described as a white, possibly Hispanic, male, 35 to 45 years old, 5’5” to 5’7” tall, stocky build, black hair, light complexion. He was wearing a dark colored jacket.
