Caney Creek Fire Department started early this morning with water rescues throughout their district which borders the City of Conroe to the south. What they didn’t expect was that they too were going to be a victim of the flood. Their Fire Station which is located just across from Conroe ISD;’s Caney Creek High School took on water themselves. They returned to the station with almost two feet of water. The boardroom furniture was scattered, a propane bottle was floating in the bay. In the business office files in the lower drawers were in the water. An expensive copy machine destroyed. The Chief’s Office also suffered damage. Outside two backup generators were underwater as water rushes across the property. The station which is one of the busiest also houses Medic 33, again one of the busier Medics. The problem now is where to move the equipment and the ambulance as work is being done to repair the station. They have other stations but they are equipped and are further away. They will now work with the insurance company to see how much damage will be covered.
