Conroe, TX: The City of Conroe Fire Department was notified of a residential fire at 224 Porter Rd (Pinecrest Mobile Home Park), near Industrial Ln at approximately 8:57 p.m. on March 5, 2018. Conroe Firefighters arrived at approximately 9:02 p.m. and reported heavy smoke from a mobile home. Firefighters initiated an offensive interior attack on the fire. One unconscious fire victim was located near the front door and was rescued by Firefighters. The incident was declared under control at approximately 9:15 p.m. The fire victim was a 47 year old male who was found unconscious with no pulse and not breathing. CPR was initiated immediately by Firefighters and EMS personnel and a pulse was regained. He was transported to Conroe Regional ER by Montgomery County Hospital District EMS. At the time of this release the victim was reported to be in critical condition with second degree burns over 20 percent of his body and was awaiting transfer to a burn center in the Houston Medical Center. There were no other occupants in the home at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries to Firefighters. The Conroe Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office has initiated an investigation into the origin and cause of the fire. The investigation is in the very early stages with no further information available at the time of this release.
