Angel Zepeda was able to spend Thanksgiving with his children and family. Saturday evening as he sat with a friend he suddenly stopped breathing. Paramedics were called and transported him to Memorial Hermann NE Hospital where he passed away Sunday morning. Angel was loved by many. He would give you the shirt off his back. He spent most of his life devoted to the fire service. Aldine, Little York and Westfield Fire Departments are where he called home for years. Due to heart surgery several years ago he was forced to give up fighting fires for Aldine Fire Department but took over a role as Shift Commander. Still, even though his doctors told him no, he wanted to fight fires or be on the fireground. He was able to do that for a short time with Westfield on the squad. He also went to work with a private ambulance company, but as he commented once, he said he was dying of boredom on his side ambulance job.
Angel will be missed by many.
Arrangements are pending.
