FIREFIGHTERS BUSY AS CONDITIONS DETERIORATE

Firefighters in Montgomery County are being kept busy as conditions worsen without any rain.

Currently Magnolia has two working fires.

Central Montgomery County Fire Department along with Caney Creek Fire Departments and the Texas Forest have returned to the Conroe Oilfields  off Exxon and FM 1314.

Sunday a tree fell onto power lines causing them to arc and sparking a forest fire. It was extinguished. Monday the returned after a spark reignited the fire. Then today once again it started burning.

With all the dead trees from the past few years they hold the heat and when conditions are right will ignite.

Currently the Texas A&M Forest Service is working at making a line completely around the one acre area to contain any additional fires.
