firefighters have a busy night

At 11:32p.m. Monday night Cut and Shoot responded to a residential fire on Lindley Woods just off Pioneer Lane. When they arrived they had a recreational vehicle totally involved. Caney Creek and North Montgomery County Fire Departments assisted them.

They had not been back to the station long when a passing motorist reported a structure fire at an old restaurant at Kinsman and SH105. This location was less than a mile from the first fire.

Cut and Shoot Fire Department along with Caney Creek and North Montgomery County Fire Department fought that fire for over an hour. When the first truck arrived they had a commercial building totally involved with power lines down. A second alarm was dispatched bringing in River Plantation and Splendora Fire Departments.

Then at 6:03 a.m. Tuesday morning New Caney, Porter and Caney Creek Fire Departments responded to a commercial fire at a scrap yard near Vick and FM 1485.

Then at 6:42a.m. Porter Fire Department responded to an 18-wheeler which lost it’s trailer and blocked three lanes of FM 1314 just east of US 59.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fires.
