FIREFIGHTERS SPEND NIGHT ON HOUSE FIRE

Just after midnight Splendora firefighters were dispatched to a house fire on Presswood Drive off Ruby Street in Splendora. They arrived to find a double wide mobile home totally engulfed i n flames. This was the same mobile home from earlier in the day in which a family pet was killed. Firefighters had left the scene just 4 hours prior after making sure all hot spots had been extinguished. Firefighters braved the freezing temperatures as they fought the fire.

Once again water supply was an issue as tankers were called in from New Caney, Porter, Plum Grove and Caney Creek. With the intense fire it took crews almost an hour to knock down the flames. They then spent almost 4 hours checking for hotspots one again.

The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office which had been investigating the earlier blaze was notified of the new fire to determine if it was a rekindle or arson was involved. One Chief said it was too intense and spread out to have been a rekindle but the Fire Marshal’s Office will have to determine that.
