East Montgomery County Fire Department has announced that Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has awarded the East Montgomery County Fire Department a grant for $8,086.00 for the purchase of sixty fifty-foot sections of NFPA approved TRU-ID 1.75-inch fire hose. This fire hose awarded will be used to replace all of their apparatus cross lays and hose bundles throughout the entire fleet and allow for spare hose to be loaded onto the apparatus after a fire. With the award, every time a firefighter deploys a hose the new hose on a fire scene, it is reassuring to know that the fire hose otherwise known as a firefighter’s “lifeline” will be double jacketed, kink resistant, lighter weight, higher quality and approved to NFPA standards so the fire fighters can perform their job and extinguish a fire as safely as possible. Without Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, this purchase and replacement of all new fire house on every truck would have not been possible.
In 2005, the Firehouse Subs founders established the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities for first responders and public safety organizations. Through the non-profit 501(c)(3), Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has granted more than $29.5 million to hometown heroes in 46 states, Puerto Rico and Canada., including more than $2 million in Texas.
