Just after 11:30 am Wednesday a Heritage Septic Truck was traveling west on FM 1791 toward FM 149. The driver came off the right shoulder of the road, overcorrected, crossed the eastbound lane and rolled over. The forward momentum caused the truck to hit a large pine tree. The driver was ejected. Montgomery Fire Department and MCHD responded to the scene but the driver was deceased. Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. The location of the crash is the same place the Huntsville School bus crash occurred on October 10th of last year. DPS completed the investigation at 4 pm. Milstead Heavy removed the truck.

The driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt…. almost no heavy commercial vehicle drivers do in fact. I know this because I was involved in my family’s heavy trucking business and had my own Peterbilt trucks for a long time and I know a LOT of commercial truck drivers and not a 1 of them has ever worn their seat belt when behind the wheel of the rigs they drove, Scott! Ergo, I’m speaking from 1st hand knowledge of the industry… so no need to send me a SCREAMING E-MAIL ABOUT MY COMMENT HERE!
