FM 2090 REOPENS AFTER FATAL CRASH

At 9 pm MCHD received a call of an auto-pedestrian crash at FM 2090 near Enloe. Units from EMC Fire and MCHD responded. They arrived on the scene to find a female deceased in the roadway. DPS, along with Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County District Attorneys Office is investigating the crash as an apparent suicide. The female driver was traveling down FM 2090 when she hit what she believed was a dog lying in the roadway. When she turned around and returned to the scene is when she realized it was a female that had been lying in the moving lane of traffic. The truck had minimal damage. The roadway reopened shortly after 12:30 am. With FM 2090 a primary corridor to Liberty County and the continued construction on FM 2090 had traffic backed up for miles and in business parking lots. Very few knew of the alternate choices of Tram to May Road and back to FM 2090 or traveling north on US 59 toward Cleveland and traveling down FM 1010.
