Firefighters begin the clean-up operation after freeing and treating the victims
The Firefighter/EMTs on E-75 began to assess the victim’s injuries and quickly determined than one victim was rapidly losing blood due to a damaged artery. They deployed their tourniquets to stop the bleeding, while at the same time working to free the victim as quickly as possible. Shortly after, they were joined by additional Firefighter/Paramedics and 2 EMS units and a Supervisor from Walker County EMS.
After the victim was freed, he was moved to a waiting ambulance, stabilized and transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center with life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, although less severely injured, was transported as well by Walker County EMS.
Troopers with the Department of Public Safety are conducting the investigation into the cause of the accident at this time.
