Lt. Craig Walter Salerno, 50, an active firefighter and Lieutenant has been with Friendswood Fire Department Station 24 for three years. Prior to that he was with Galveston and La Marque Fire Departments and League City Fire Departments. In 1991 he was hired as a dispatcher for Continental Airlines.
Craig had been sitting in the VIP section when the plane crashed. His friend was taken to the hospital but DNA was required to identify Craig.
Craig was also involved with Wings Over Houston.
Craig leaves behind a wife and two young children.
Eleven others lost their lives, 68 others were injured.
