MOSQUITO ABATEMENT
Summer is just around the corner, which means mosquitoes and the threat of the West Nile virus are on everyone’s mind. As a part of his commitment to protecting the public health, Commissioner Noack hosted a community event geared toward providing residents with the knowledge and tools they need to protect themselves from mosquito-borne disease. The event, held on April 22nd, featured presentations and practical demonstrations related to mosquitoes and West Nile. Dr. Mark Escott, Public Health Authority for Montgomery County, spoke about West Nile activity and the impact it has had in the county. The Mosquito Abatement team demonstrated common household breeding sites, effective insect repellents, and the trapping methods used to collect mosquitoes and test them for West Nile. If you have questions about mosquitoes or the West Nile virus, please call 281-364-4203.
