On January 13, the Cleveland Police Department issued a press release asking for the public’s help in locating Victor “Boobie” Bennett (age 24, from Cleveland). An “Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon” warrant (2nd Degree Felony) for Bennett’s arrest had been issued in regards to a shooting that occurred on December 22nd, 2014.
On Friday, February 27th, 2015 the Cleveland Police Department was contacted by a concerned citizen advising Victor Bennett was staying at a residence located near the 700 block of Boston Circle in Cleveland, Texas.
Acting on the tip, Officers drove to the residence and attempted to make contact with the occupants. Officers eventually made contact with Alicia Washington (age 29, from Cleveland). Alicia Washington advised Officers she did not know where Victor Bennett was staying and he was not at the residence.
A continued investigation by CPD Officers and assistance by citizens found Victor Bennett hiding underneath a child’s bed located in the residence. Victor Bennett was taken into custody for the Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Warrant without incident. Alicia Washington was arrested for “Hindering Apprehension of a Known Felon” (3rd Degree Felony).
The Cleveland Police Department advises this apprehension would not have been possible without the public’s help.
