garden ridge is arson

Federal Investigators have ruled the Garden Ridge Fire as arson. They learned through  employees that the fire started in middle of the store and some reported hearing an explosion.

"This is an ongoing investigation, therefore we will not be releasing specific details regarding the cause and origin of the fire," said ATF Assistant Special Agent In Charge Gary Orchowski. "We’d like to thank the public as the public was of assistance in helping us follow up on numerous leads."

The National Response of the ATF responded to the scene the day after the fire.

The National Response Team of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms is only called into the biggest fires. The last time they were in the Houston area was for the Gallery Furniture fire investigation, which also turned out to be arson.

Is this really a surprise? Just a couple weeks earlier someone attempted to burn down the Walmart on Loop 336 by setting several small fires thru the store. And I heard that a Kohl’s or some other local store also had some fires set inside the store…but in both of these cases, the fires were able to be put out before the stores were damaged. How many incidents did officials need to know, even before the Garden Ridge fire, that they had an arsonist on the loose on a mission to burn down a major store full of customers. I arriving at the Walmart next to Garden Ridge and saw it burning a couple hours after it had started and my immediate thought was “well, it looks like the arsonist achieved his/her goal”.
