HATS OFF TO JUDGE LAIRD-$1.5 MILLION BOND FOR BURGLARY OF A HABITATION

Judge Claudia Laird has set a $1.5 million dollar bond on Deedra Grubbs. The case will be assigned to Judge Edwards Court. She was taken into custody Friday afternoon after a three day crime spree. Wednesday morning she and Bobbie Grubbs were involved in a burglary of a Woodlands home in which before stealing weapons and jewelry the beat the elderly female homeowner and then tying a vacuum cleaner cord around her neck left her for dead. She came to and notified authorities and Montgomery County Detectives and SWAT members worked around the clock non-stop since then to locate the pair,.

This morning Bobbie Grubbs shot three people in East Texas, killing one. Leaving his vehicle behind he stole one of the victims cars and was picked up- by the U.S. Marshal’s on US 59 coming through Polk County. Montgomery County, Liberty County U.S. Marshals and several other agencies pooled their resources and as the vehicle crossed SH 105 on US 59 they literally pounced on it.

An employee of a nearby business who watched it unfold said the U.S. Marshal’s helicopter sounded like it was coming through their building as he dipped to the freeway and was just inches over the top of the vehicle just before another vehicle cut Grubb’s off and Grubb’s was forced to stop.

As weapons were drawn they ordered both out of the vehicle, Grubbs was put to the ground first. Officers then had Deedra Grubbs slowly raise her blouse several inches to make sure nothing was concealed. She was then sat down on the freeway..

Cleveland EMS transported her to Kingwood Hospital for evaluation. She was relased about an hour later and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
