At 9:15 pm Sunday night multiple calls started coming into the Montgomery County 911 Center reporting a head-ok crash on Ford Road in Porter. Porter Fire responded and immediately called for additional ambulances when the arrived. Two vehicles, a Chevrolet truck and a Chevrolet Impala hit head-on trapping the victims. The three occupants of the Impala were not wearing seatbelts and were in critical condition. The driver and passenger in the pickup were in stable condition. The victims of the Impala were transported to Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands and the truck occupants were transported to Conroe Regional Hospital. Several witnesses said the truck was eastbound on Ford Road just west of Loop 494 when it ran a red light, jumped the tracks and traveled down Ford Road at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control in a curve and put down almost 300-feet of skid mark before impacting the Impala, pushing it backward. DPS spent close to 5-hours investigating the crash as Ford Road, a major thoroughfare to Kingwood was closed. The Montgomery County District Attorneys Office Vehicular Crimes Unit is also assisting in the investigation. What was learned was the owner of the truck was about to sell it and was giving a potential buyer a test drive when the crash happened.
