Heroic Act by Councilman Rescues Local Man

Good Samaritan, City Councilman Tony Garza, assist officers and potentially saves the life of a local Roman Forest Resident.

On Thursday night, Roman Forest Sgt. Jasonis and Officer Elassaad were dispatched to a residence in Roman Forest for a priority 911 call for Doug Dixon who had a serious life threatening medical emergency. Dixon was lying paralyzed on the ground. With sever chest pain, in convolutions, and numbness throughout his body.

When officers arrived, the home was locked and they were faced with the home owners large Rottweiler who lunged at the officers and went in and out of the house through a dog door preventing the officers from making forced entry to the house.

The officers then determined to make forced entry into the home anyway. Officers removed a window screen from an outside window but it was too small for them to fit through Good Samaritan Roman Forest Councilman Tony Garza then instinctively jumped through the window disregarding his on safety. Garza then secured the large dog and opened the door to the home which allowed Officers and EMS personnel to make entry and stabilize the patient. The patient was transported by ambulance to the ER.

Chief Carlisle, who happens to be a good friend of Doug Dixon, is at the ER with him until family can be contacted
