Just before 9 pm a Houston Police Motorcycle Officer was traveling northbound on West Lake Houston Parkway. As he approached the intersection of Edge Lake Blvd., in the Waters Edge Subdivision a female driver westbound on Edge Lake failed to stop for the stop sign. As she pulled into the intersection the officer was forced to lay his new motorcycle on the ground. The woman’s Toyota suffered minor damage. The officer was transported to Houston Northeast Hospital in stable condition with facial lacerations. His motorcycle also suffered damage and required a wrecker. During the investigation a northbound motorist decided to ignore directions of an HPD officer directing traffic. That driver decided to counter-flow the wrong way into oncoming traffic on West Lake Houston Parkway. He was detained but later released.
