HUNDREDS PAY LAST RESPECTS TO ATASCOCITA FIREFIGHTER

One week ago area firefighters were shaken by the news they had lost one of their own. Atascocita Lt. Jared Snell was on his way home when his Hummer struck an 18-wheeler head-on, on SH 105 near Tarkington. Investigators say he tried to pass another vehicle around 8 pm Friday evening just miles from home when the crash happened. Many believe that him knowing the roadway feel he may have dozed off after pulling a long shift. Today, hundreds of friends, family members and fellow firefighters from many departments paid their last respects at a service at Grace Church on SH 105 in Cleveland. After the service, his casket was placed on a fire truck for his last ride to his final resting place. R.I.P. JARED.
