As part of Hurricane Preparedness Week the Hurricane Awareness Tour is coming to Scholes International Airport at Galveston May 17th. Two hurricane hunter aircraft, the USAF C130 and the NOAA G4 will landing that morning and on display during the event. The USCG and Texas DPS will have helicopters as well. The City of Galveston will be showing boats and vehicles from their Marine Rescue Unit. The U.S. Army Corps will be showing a drone. TexDOT will be displaying equipment. There will also be numerous exhibitors with tables with demonstrations and information to hand out related to hurricane preparedness.
The public tour period is from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Parking is in the overflow parking lot behind Moody Gardens. A shuttle bus will be available to take you to and from the airport where the event is held. See the attached flier for more information. I hope you can make it!
