Just after 9 pm calls started coming into the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on an attempt to locate a black Jeep. The driver was southbound from Loop 336 on FM 3083 and had already almost hit several motorists. As calls continued to come in deputies converged on the area. One person who had been following the vehicle reported him passing on the shoulder and driving on the wrong side of the road. That person lost sight of him on FM 3083 near the schools after he accelerated to a high speed. Not a mile ahead the light had changed red and a female driving a Mazda was northbound on FM 3083 turning left onto Old Houston, her husband behind her. That is when the Jeep flew through the red light hitting that female almost head-on and causing the Jeep to roll over in the ditch. Caney Creek Fire Department had to cut the woman out of the vehicle. She was transported to Conroe Regional Hospital in stable condition with a leg injury. The male driver of the Jeep was given a field sobriety test by DPS. After looking like he was preparing for a marathon including stretching exercises, he failed the tests. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Additional charges could come after Precinct 2 Deputy Constable recovered drugs in his vehicle.
