Infant critically injured in rollover

Just before midnight on Sunday, an SUV was northbound on Fostoria Road when the driver failed to negotiate a curve north of the railroad tracks at the San Jacinto County line, causing a disastrous crash.

The vehicle left the roadway, flipping multiple times.

A 3-month-old was ejected from the child safety eat and thrown about the vehicle as it rolled, causing a head injury. The infant was flown by Life Flight air ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center in Houston.

The male driver was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition along with his 5-year-old son. His wife was uninjured.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.

Legacy EMS, City of Cleveland EMS, Bear Creek EMS, Bear Creek Fire Department, Splendora Fire Department, and the Montgomery County and San Jacinto County Hospital District medics responded.
