Just after 3 am Sunday morning Deputy Jackson with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was on patrol in his SUV near the intersection of Sawdust and Grogans Mill. As he continued up Grogans Mill in the left lane, a vehicle approached him in the right lane and turned into Jackson as the driver attempted to turn left on a crossover.
The driver identified as William Alberto Quintanilla-Hernandez, 23, of 21319 Sugarbridge in Tomball fled the scene after striking Jackson. Jackson was able to pursue the driver a short distance before the front tire on the patrol unit went flat.
Other deputies in the area were able to stop the driver who had made a u-turn and was heading back toward the Interstate.
DPS was called to the scene and after investigating arrested Quintanilla-Hernandez for evading arrest, accident involving serious bodily injury and driving while intoxicated. He is being held on a total of $45,000 in bonds.
