Bertha Emiliano was traveling west in the 1000 block of W Mt Houston Rd. Emiliano was traveling with three passengers in her silver Chevrolet Impala. Jose De Jesus Osorio Albarran was observed by witnesses traveling east on the road in a silver Nissan truck. The witnesses observed Jose De Jesus Osorio Albarran swerve left of center and crash head on into Emiliano’s car. Jose De Jesus Osorio Albarran was found to be an intoxicated driver due to the introduction of alcohol into the body. As a result of the collision, Emiliano was pronounced dead at the scene. The front right seat passenger and two back seat passengers were seriously injured in the crash and evacuated to Ben Taub hospital for treatment. Jose De Jesus Osorio Albarran was injured in the crash and admitted to the hospital. Jose De Jesus Osorio Albarranis charged with the offense of Intoxication Manslaughter and remains in the custody of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The crash investigation continues by the Traffic Enforcement Division of the Harris County Sheriffs Office.
