Tuesday night a driver was following behind a Dodge Journey driven by Mariam Hamilton, 45, of Willis. He said she was all over the road and attempted to call 911 but cell service was bad. He then began to video her with his cell phone until he was able to get a signal and get through to 911. An attempt to locate was issued about the time she was driving down the centerline of FM 1484 near Miller Road. She struck a Chevrolet pickup head-on killing the driver and injuring three others. DPS Troopers and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office are continuing the investigation.  This was not Hamilton’s first brush with the law, in fact, she had a warrant out for her arrest for driving while intoxicated. She was arrested on May 20, 2019, for possession of oxycodone driving while intoxicated in the 12000 block of FM 1314 by Conroe Police. She bonded out on a $7500 bond and was due to appear in court on June 12, 2019. She failed to appear and the bond was revoked. On February 24, 2020, she was brought back to Montgomery County from the Harris County Jail. She then had a $10,000 bond set in each of her two cases (DWI and possession), She bonded out March 5, 2020, with instructions to return to court on March 25, 2020.  She was then ordered to submit to monthly urinalysis and bond supervision. She failed in April, May, and June of 2020. Judge Grant then set aside her bond and on August 2, 2020, by Conroe Police at the Circle K on South Loop 336 and returned to the Montgomery County Jail. On August 17, 2020, Judge Grant dropped the possession charge and gave her 10 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice but probated that for 5-years. The conditions of the probation included substance abuse counseling, 160 hours of community service, and 10-days in the Montgomery County Jail. Also added in were all other standard DWI conditions spelled out in court documents. But then on January 6, 2021, Judge Grant revoked her probation. The reason for the revocation was failing to submit to urinalysis in September, October, November, and December of 2020. She did not obtain an ignition interlock, failed to attend classes, failed to pay fees. she crashed Tuesday night the warrant was still active.
