William Goodrich Jones State Forest near Conroe and The Woodlands Township located south of FM 1488 is closed until further notice due to the removal and salvage of hundreds of drought stricken dead trees in the forested area and around recreational and trail areas. This tree removal process is dangerous; visitors will be limited to using only property of the Jones State Forest north of FM 1488. Parking is permitted by the main office located at 1328 FM 1488, however no horseback riding is allowed.
Violators will be ticketed if found in the restricted area of the state forest during this period.
