Shortly before 11 p.m. North Montgomery County Fire Department, Montgomery Fire Department, and Montgomery County Precinct 1 Lake Patrol were dispatched to a boat crash on Lake Conroe. When they arrived they found a 2001 Bayliner floating approximately 300 yards from the FM 1097 long bridge. The boat had extensive damage to the front and three occupants were found on board seriously injured.
North Montgomery County Fire Department also responded with their fireboat and had to free the operator of the boat from under the console area. All three were then moved to the fireboat and stabilized. They were transported to a marina where ambulances waited to transport the three to Conroe Regional Hospital. All three are now in stable condition.
What has been determined is the boat was southbound in the lake when it struck bridge support number 40 under the long bridge. It still hasn’t been determined how long they were afloat before being found. The names have not yet been released as the investigation continues. However, Lt. Cain with the Montgomery County Constables Office Precinct 1 Lake Patrol did say the operator of the craft was a 61-year-old male. His passengers were a husband and wife, the male 56-years-old and the passenger 47-years-old. They were returning to a marina after having dinner at a local establishment. All were from New Waverly.
A mandatory blood draw was done since there were injuries.
