Just after 3 p.m., swimmers at the Scott’s Ridge Recreational Area in the Sam Houston National Forest on the north end of the lake found what they thought was a log floating in the swimming area. Upon closer inspection, they realized it was the body of a middle-aged Hispanic male. The Pct. 1 Constable’s Office Lake Patrol responded, presuming it was a drowning victim. As they began to recover the body, they noticed multiple wounds, which appeared to be the result of a stabbing.
