LOCAL WRECKER DRIVER DONATES DALMATIAN TO EMC FIRE

If you’re from East Montgomery County you may know or heard of Slinky Knox, owner of Saddle Creek Towing. He has been around for years helping people being there to assist law enforcement, Slinky is the type that would give someone the shirt off his back. With the fire service rich in tradition ….the tradition of a Dalmatian in the firehouse dates back to the 1700s with horse-drawn steam pumpers. Dalmatians and horses were very compatible, so the dogs were easily trained to run in front of the engines to help clear a path and guide the horses and the firefighters to the fires quickly. Today these Dalmatians are apart of our fire family as “live in” members and are more used for PR events, and around the firehouse. Thanks to an amazing family in East County who supports not only the Fire Department but every part of our community, East County Fire now has a new member of our department and will continue to carry on the tradition of a Dalmatian in the firehouse. Thank you to Knox Slinky, his wife, and son for this wonderful addition and donation!! We would like to introduce “Booster” short for Booster Tank Backup!!! Our new firehouse Dalmatian, which all 3 shifts will help raise and mold around the firehouse!
