Just before noon Sunday longtime Montgomery County resident Gary Calfee, 70, of Montgomery was quail hunting and training hunting dogs on the Price Ranch, a private ranch in Montgomery. He was riding an ATV with another driver when they hit a ravine and the ATV flipped. Calfee was ejected. Montgomery Fire Department and MCHD responded to the scene. Calfee was pronounced deceased on the scene. According to Montgomery County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack it was just a freak accident. Calfee and his late wife were very involved in the community. He served in many capacities with several organizations throughout Montgomery County.
