At 2:15 a.m. Sunday Caney Creek Fire Department was dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover crash with one person trapped. They arrived on the scene on Old Houston Road just south of FM 3083 to find a green 2012 Jeep Wrangler upside down in a yard and up against a house. The young female driver who was not wearing a seatbelt was still in the vehicle but was able to crawl out with the firefighter’s assistance. She was suffering from some minor cuts and scrapes. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office worked the crash and found that she had been southbound on Old Houston at a high rate of speed. She left the roadway and traveled close to 300-yards, striking mailboxes, culvert pipes, and a fence before flipping on its roof, striking a Dodge truck parked in a yard, and slamming into the porch of a mobile home. The Jeep had extensive damage, the cold 12-pack of beer was still intact except for two cans that were thrown out of the vehicle in the crash. The female was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Saddle Creek Towing had to flip the vehicle back over before removing it. Old Houston Road was closed for just over an hour.
