MAGNOLIA RESIDENT RECOVERING AFTER BEING RESCUED BY FIREFIGHTERS

Magnolia Firefighters pulled female occupant from burning home on Debbi Lane last Friday.

Friday afternoon, Magnolia Firefighters, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies, and MCHD EMS responded to a residential fire on Debbi Lane in Southwest Montgomery County. A Sergeant with the Sheriff’s Department was the first on scene, but was unable to enter the home due to heavy smoke conditions from a fire in the living room.

Firefighters entered the burning home and rescued the lone occupant, an 51-year-old female. She was found unconscious on the floor and was treated at the scene by medics from the Montgomery County Hospital District before being flown to Hermann Hospital by Lifeflight Helicopter. As of now, she is still recovering.

Investigators from the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office continue to inspect the circumstances surrounding the fire and have yet to release the victim’s name.

For more information on the rescue, please contact Magnolia Fire Chief Gary Vincent at his office (281) 356-3288.
