Approximately 6:30 a.m. this morning Porter Fire Department responded to a major accident at Ford Road and US 59 northbound feeder. When they arrived they found a Chevrolet pickup parked up against an 18-wheeler dump truck. There were five occupants in the pickup owned by a construction company. Two of those were flown by Hermann Life Flight to Houston. The others were transported by ground.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken to Kingwood in stable condition.
Porter firefighters worked almost 45 minutes to free the driver of the pickup. With it up against the 18-wheeler working space was limited. LaBuff Towing was then used to pull the vehicle away from the truck to give firefighters more working room.
DPS is on the scene along with DPS Commercial Vehicle Inspectors.
Ford Road will be closed for several hours, US 59 northbound feeder is limited to one lane northbound.
