FM 1375 set to close Monday so that crews can begin prep work for its demolition next weekend. I-45 will close completely beginning next Friday night, November 15th
TxDot officials have confirmed that the FM 1375 overpass will close this coming Monday, November 11th. The contractor will then spend next week prepping the overpass for its long-planned demolition. FM 1374 will re-open and will serve as the only route between the east and west sides of the freeway. The FM 1375 overpass will be demolished during a planned full freeway closure that begins next weekend. I-45 will be closed starting Friday, November 15th at 8 pm. All I-45 traffic will be diverted to the feeder roads until Sunday, November 17th at 5 pm.
FM 1375 will be rebuilt at ground level and a new freeway overpass will be constructed, similar to the one built over FM 1374. The roundabouts will remain, with a new connecting road built between them. This phase was originally scheduled to last as long as two years, but the contractor has been already building up the approaches for some time, hopefully lessening the amount of time needed to re-open FM 1375, a heavily traveled road for both locals and those passing through the area.
Traffic will remain in this configuration until the new freeway overpass is open and the FM 1375 connector road is built between the roundabouts.
